Danny, Sales Executive – St. Albans Fitness & Wellbeing Centre

"I did a degree in Sports Science but then I fell into a sales career, so when I saw that Nuffield Health were advertising for Sales Executives, I thought it was an opportunity to combine the best of both worlds.  

Having never sold fitness before, it was a little daunting at first but I attended a 2 day training course which gave me lots of product knowledge and then there was the support of my Manager and the rest of the sales team on site. As one of the region's top sales people, I have consistently hit my targets since the first month I joined.  

I think it's a lot about being organised, so I structure my day to make sure I get the best out of it, by prospecting at set times during the day and doing call backs in the evening, when I know I am more likely to get hold of potential customers.  

It's not really a hard sell...the club and the facilities sell themselves but I always have a good chat with prospective customers to find out exactly what they're looking for, before I even try to pitch the club to them.  

Now we can offer our customers Clinical Services in addition to Fitness, it's a really exciting time.  Customers can get rewarded for getting healthy…so there's extra motivation for them to join.

 People often ask me what the best thing about working here is and I tell them that I work as part of a really strong Sales Team and it's a brilliant environment to work in…in fact, sometimes it doesn't feel like work at all."
