In Diagnostics, the company has installed £50 million of
state-of-the-art imaging equipment including the latest in Wide
Bore 1.5T MRI, 128 Slice CT, Cone Beam CT, X-ray, Ultrasound and
PACS technology. I really appreciate that. It means I can give
patients the very best quality care whilst, at the same time,
increasing my experience and skills.
Nuffield is an incredibly friendly and supportive place to work.
I know everyone by name, and they know me. There's such a great
sense of camaraderie.
I also feel valued. I'm treated as a professional healthcare
practitioner and rewarded for doing well. We have close working
relationships with both managers and consultants. And, because of
the high staff to patient ratio, I get to spend quality time with
patients, which is what my job should be all about.
When I first joined Nuffield, I was looking for progression
having just finished an NHS course. The role is much more varied
than I originally expected. It's generalist but I get to work in
specialist areas. The training is superb and there are always
opportunities to learn new skills. I've really developed my
management abilities here and I get to take responsibility for
everything from budget control to people management to performance
improvements."
