"Wessex is a small Hospital, which is just right for me. The
team is friendly - more like a family, really. We look after each
other and socialise together, too.
We have a regular influx of new Consultants who bring new
procedures - this means there are new skills for us to learn, which
certainly keeps us challenged and motivated.
I can cover everything from Paediatrics to Gynaecology to
Orthopaedics in just one day. You get so much variety here. It's
anything but dull. I work part-time, and as long as I'm prepared to
be flexible, I get it back in return. So, if I do need to take time
out to be somewhere with the children, there isn't a problem. The
theatre team and managers here are incredibly supportive.
Things are challenging right now because we're so busy. That's
part of the hospital being such a success. So, we need more people
to join us."
