Here, you’ll work with a wide range of fitness experts – but you’ll be doing more than a fitness role. You’ll find that your colleagues bring a special focus on health and wellbeing. From our personal trainers to our health mentors, everyone is committed to a joined-up, holistic approach – one that benefits our patients and members.

So, whenever you find that further specialist advice or treatment is needed, you’ll be able to refer your patient or member to a range of experts onsite – from a nutritional therapist, to a physiotherapist, or physiologist.

Wellbeing Personal Trainer

Unlike any other Personal Trainer role, this position will see you undertaking a minimum of 8 hours personal training (across a 40-hour week) , which we’ll support and encourage you to increase. The development journey in this role begins with four months’ training with our Fitness Academy to give you the skills you need to lead group exercise, gym floor interaction and other PT activity, such as our unique Health MOTs. At all times, you’ll be linking health to fitness, and making referrals onto clinical specialists where necessary, who are also onsite. To be successful in your application, you’ll need to be a CIMSPA practitioner (or REPs level 3). And, as you grow your skills and experience, you’ll have the opportunity to progress into a Senior Wellbeing PT role, where you’ll be at the forefront of new products introduced by Nuffield Health.

Fitness Manager

As part of the senior leadership team, in this role you’ll be at the forefront of product development at our fitness & wellbeing centres. You’ll also have a variety of responsibility across gym, PT, swim and Nutritional Therapy areas.


This is a new growth area for our business, having brought the service in-house in 2014. We have introduced swim school at many of ours sites (52 clubs in total), allowing us to create a professional and standardised swimming offering, which includes children’s and adult swimming lessons.
Our Swim team enjoy a rewarding career at Nuffield Health. We plan to integrate our Lifeguard and Swim roles within the overall fitness teams. And the role of lifeguard is seen as a great entry level role into the fitness sector – and a fantastic opportunity to work in an environment with likeminded people. What’s more, we have recently introduced additional roles such as Swimming Instructor and Swimming Co-ordinator, which offer great development opportunities from the role of lifeguard.
