Francesca started with Nuffield Health as a Personal Assistant at our Cambridge Hospital in summer 2017.

  • What attracted you to your first job here?

The reputation that Nuffield have as a company, for providing exceptional care to their patients, and support for their staff. This includes the option of the healthcare scheme, free gym membership and so much more!

  • Have you had any other roles here and if so what has been your career path?

I began my career as a Clinical Governance Administrator and Training Coordinator, but as time has progressed, I started to take on more responsibility, supporting additional members of the Management Team. I then was given to opportunity to progress to the role of Personal Assistant to the Senior Management Team.

  • Tell us about a typical day in your job?

 I start my day early, to ensure I am here before the Management Team. This allows me to catch up on any important emails, and prepare for the day ahead. Once the management team are in, as well as completing my own workload, such as attending meetings, typing up minutes, I also ensure the Management Team’s day runs smoothly. I am on hand to help them with any given tasks throughout the day, to make their time more efficient.

  • For someone looking to be a Personal Assistant do you have any advice or top tips?

I believe my degree in Business Management gave me a solid understanding of businesses as a whole. However, I love the fact that no two days are the same in this job, given the hospital environment, it can be a very fast paced and changing environment – but this is what I thrive in! A Personal Assistant career is a career that can be moulded and shaped with hard work and commitment, both to the Management Team and Nuffield Health! Incredibly rewarding!

  • What do you enjoy the most about working for Nuffield Health?

The brilliant teams I get to interact and work with on a daily basis – people who are committed to making a difference in every way they can.

  • The professional and personal wellbeing of our staff is important to us, how do you benefit from a work life balance with us?

Flexibility in working hours, to ensure I am able to get the most out of my job, but ensuring that I also have the balance of a home life. I also really enjoy being able to wind-down and relax at the Nuffield Gym, with the gym membership included as an employee benefit!
