Senior Staff Nurse (RGN)

We value expertise at Nuffield Health. It’s our combination of expert knowledge, innovative thinking and passion for care that has enabled us to become Britain’s largest not for profit healthcare provider. It has also helped us to build a unique network delivering connected healthcare - from hospitals, to Fitness and Wellbeing Clubs, to specialist services including physiotherapy. Across our network, brilliant people benefit from our commitment to invest every penny in our services and people. With more time and greater scope to do what you love, the specialist in you will thrive here.

We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Staff Nurse with the ability to inspire others to deliver the highest standards of patient care. Whether you join us from the NHS or a private setting, we’ll give you the greatest opportunities to fulfil your passion for nursing and grow your career. This role is about leading by example and being an ambassador for the Nuffield Health way of caring. It’s about recognising talent, nurturing junior staff, and mentoring them to be the best nurses they can be, using clinical skills and an empathetic approach to meet each individual patient’s need. This is nursing as it should be.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll get to work with some of the best clinical talent around and experience new practices, equipment and facilities. Providing day-to-day supervision, including clinical supervision of junior nursing staff and students, your responsibilities will include work scheduling and rotas; involvement in recruitment, induction and performance review; training, development and mentoring.

An NMC registered and qualified nurse, you will ideally have a qualification in teaching and assessment, together with some mentoring experience or a level 2 or 3 management qualification. Immediate Life Support is preferred and Advanced Life Support is desirable. You’ll have experience of multi-specialty surgical procedures, plus further professional training, experience and, preferably, a qualification in a specialist area. You’ll also have excellent clinical skills and experience in a mentoring role.

Like us, you believe in putting people first. So you’ll be a great role model when it comes to giving care – taking the time to fully understand and meet each patient’s needs, and showing others how to reassure and support patients and their families. This is the type of care that comes naturally to talented practitioners.

We want you to be the best you can be. So we promise to support you with training, career development and our unique health and wellbeing focused benefits package. This includes free membership of your local Fitness and Wellbeing Club, physiotherapy services and an annual health assessment, as well as a range of lifestyle and financial wellbeing benefits. Along with a competitive salary package you will also be paid enhancements for shift/unsociable hours worked and on call.
