Nuffield Health Taunton Hospital

Ophthalmology is one of the hospitals leading services and we are looking for someone with a passion for ophthalmic to join our theatre team to act as the specialist lead in this area.
You will have proven experience working as an Ophthalmic Scrub Nurse and be able to support a team of junior Scrub Nurses who work in this speciality. Experience in at least one other speciality is preferable but not essential as full training will be given.

We are seeking someone to motivate and support the team to ensure the delivery of high quality patient-focused safe care. You will contribute to ensuring compliance to National Care Standards and other legislative requirements. Working collaboratively alongside some of the top Consultants in their fields, you’ll ensure the best possible treatment and care for our patients. You should have excellent communication skills, good time management and organisational skills.

You will work together with the Senior Theatre Team to ensure smooth running of our theatre department, with this role specifically focusing on the ophthalmic speciality. Responsibilities will include maintaining appropriate stock levels and managing implants, the general running of day to day ophthalmic lists. Full support and encouragement will be given to be involved in other scrub specialities and we welcome someone with an enthusiastic and proactive attitude to making positive changes in the department.

This is a great opportunity for a passionate and experienced Theatre Practitioner who wants to progress into leading a speciality in a busy theatre department.

The salary for this position will be between £29,000.00-£32,000.00 depending on the experience of the candidate.
