Not-for-profit healthcare organisation Nuffield Health has won for the first time ‘Innovative Training Programme of the Year’ at the Active Training Awards 2015.
Judged by a panel of senior independent figures and following three months of assessment, Nuffield Health was recognised for its Healthy Start Programme. The Healthy Start Programme was launched in the Summer of 2014 with the aim to help young people, including those with an underlying health issue, increase their chances of gaining sustainable employment whilst improving their wellbeing. Nuffield Health delivers this via work experience, traineeships, apprenticeships and community health education in schools and charities.
The annual Active Training Awards honours exceptional performance and commitment in the Physical Activity sector, specifically that of vocational education, training and development. Other finalists competing for the ‘Innovative Training Programme of the Year’ category were: Fusion Lifestyle, Future Fit Training, IoS Training, Les Mills and Lifetime Training.
Nick Green, Head of Healthy Start Programme at Nuffield Health comments: “We are delighted to have won this award. This is a positive endorsement of all the great work being performed by so many of our people to help build an inclusive workforce and bring young people into our business. I‘m pleased to say that almost 20 people have now secured employment at Nuffield Health thanks to the Healthy Start Programme.”
This latest achievement ends a successful awards year for Nuffield Health, winning five awards at the Employee Benefits Awards in June.
