Salary up to £40 per hour depending on experience

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Respiratory Physiologist to join our dynamic team on a bank (as-needed, likely Tuesday’s and Fridays) basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work flexibly while contributing to the delivery of high-quality respiratory diagnostics and care, to support our growing services.

As a Bank Respiratory Physiologist, you will support our respiratory services by performing a range of diagnostic tests and assessments, ensuring accurate and timely results that support clinical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct full lung function testing, including spirometry, gas transfer, and body plethysmography and support CPET testing.

  • Assist our clinicians in the diagnosis and monitoring of respiratory conditions such as asthma, COPD, and sleep-disordered breathing

  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

  • Ensure all equipment is calibrated and maintained to the highest standards

  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care

About You

Essential:

  • BSc in Clinical Physiology (Respiratory) or equivalent

  • ARTP Part 1 or equivalent professional qualification

  • Proven experience in a respiratory physiology setting

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and flexibly

Desirable:

  • ARTP Part 2 or equivalent

  • Experience with sleep studies and CPAP therapy

  • Familiarity with electronic patient record systems

Nuffield Health Barts Hospital

We’ve opened the doors to Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew’s Hospital: The City of London’s only independent hospital, situated next to St Bartholomew’s NHS hospital. This is our flagship center for cardiac services and will also provide a full range of surgical and medical services, including: orthopaedics, oncology, general surgery, genecology and urology services.

Our hospital consists of 55 beds, including 7 Specialist intensive care beds, four of the most advanced digital operating theatres and Endoscopy and minor ops theatre. With 28 consultation rooms. Cardiac catheterisation lab, Oncology Day unit and full diagnostic imaging suite including MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography and general X-ray.
