Up to £35.00 per hour, depending on experience

As a bank Oncology Pharmacist at our Brighton Hospital, you'll be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and you'll have proven post-qualification experience. It's also important that you have excellent communication and people skills, as you'll be working closely with our patients and a variety of clinical staff.

As an Oncology Pharmacist, you will:

  • Join our talented multidisciplinary team

  • Be the trusted Medicines Management Lead for our hospital

  • Deliver high-quality clinical care and advice where it’s needed

  • Offer services to a range of departments, including the pre-assessment clinic, outpatient department, ward and theatres

  • Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings

  • Educate patients on the proper use of prescribed medications

  • Conduct medication reconciliation and drug utilization reviews

  • Document clinical interventions and outcomes

  • Provide drug information and training to healthcare staff and patients

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, national regulations, and accreditation standards

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and medication safety programs

  • Report adverse drug reactions and medication errors

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Plan, monitor and quality assure the application of technology for the provision of Chemotherapy treatment

  • Assess the health and well-being of patients whose needs may be complex and changing within the context of their medicines

  • Discuss, agree and explain responsibilities for assessment of patients with the clinical team, with specific reference to the patient’s pharmaceutical needs and oncology medication

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate pharmaceutical care to meet patient’s health and wellbeing needs

  • Responding to clinical and non-clinical queries

As an Oncology Pharmacist, you will have:

  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and disease management

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

  • Have completed oncology pharmacist competencies as set by BOPA and Pan-London framework

  • Experience with IQEMO highly desirable

  • Be computer literate

  • Familiar with EPR systems

  • At least 2 years experience in an oncology setting

Qualifications and Experience:

  • GPhC registration.

  • Extensive experience in hospital pharmacy and oncology

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Unwavering attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
