8 hours per week, 9am-5pm 1 day a week (Fridays)

Our Nuffy Bear Day Nursery is seeking Nursery Cook/Chef to be based at (insert site) in our Nuffield Health gym.

You will need to have good verbal and written English, as well as Food Allergen Awareness training, which we can provide. You’re strong on organisation and confident about encouraging children to develop their love of food. And of course, you’ll require an enhanced DBS as part of your application.  

As a Nursery Cook, you will:

  • Be responsible for the organisation and operation for our nursery kitchen
  • Work with seasonal menus and use fresh ingredients to produce healthy and nutritional food 
  • Order from our nominated suppliers to ensure adequate stock levels
  • Work within a set budget alongside your manager
  • Minimise food waste
  • Support laundry and ensure the cleanliness of your kitchen
  • Deal with third parties/suppliers
  • Work to EHO (environmental health) standards

Some of our roles require a DBS check and they are processed through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) as part of the recruitment process. These checks are to assist employers in making safer recruitment decisions. However, a check is just one part of robust recruitment practice.

Documents

You could be asked to provide proof of vaccinations as part of our Occupational Health pre-employment screening. We know it can be time consuming to get this information if you don’t already have it to hand, so we encourage you to start preparing this information to avoid any delays to the onboarding process.
