We’re looking for a Housekeeping Team Leader to supervise and support our cleaning team, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and service for our patients, staff, and visitors. Bringing strong communication and leadership skills, you’ll manage rotas, oversee stock control, and prioritise workloads effectively. With good IT and customer service skills, as well as an eye for detail, you’ll also play a hands-on role in daily housekeeping duties, helping to create a welcoming and safe environment.

As a Housekeeping Team Leader, you will:

  • Ensure cleaning products and equipment are used effectively, following health and safety procedures while meeting service deadlines

  • Monitor and manage stock levels, ensuring the team has the resources they need to maintain high standards

  • Oversee key administrative tasks, including scheduling and maintaining rotas, stock control, conducting audits, and keeping training records up to date

  • Act as the main point of contact for reporting and resolving issues within work areas or equipment, liaising with the management team to find effective solutions and dealing with complaints

  • Maintain a safe and hygienic environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including audits

  • Providing day to day supervision of the housekeeping team, including scheduling work, inductions, development and training, tracking leave and absences

  • Ensure work is completed efficiently, to high standards, and in line with infection prevention policies and agreed procedures

Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital.

The Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital is situated next to the Nuffield Health Devonshire Gym, in Derriford, Plymouth and we have been part of the Plymouth community since 1971. We have 3 main theatres – 2 laminar flow and 1 digital, a fully JAG accredited endoscopy suite, a 35-bedded ward with one 4 bedded bay and one 2 bedded bay. Our outpatients department has 12 consulting rooms with a dedicated ophthalmology suite and ENT service.

Our Diagnostic imaging department responsibilities consists of plain film studies for our inpatients, out patients and external referrals, theatre lists, general and MSK ultrasound clinics and fluoroscopy.  We have a mobile CT service several times a month and Mobile MRI service several times a week.  This service is currently managed by a third party but as Head of Department you would have overall responsibility for this service. We have three main theatres and a minor ops theatre.  Two of the main theatres have laminar flow and the majority of the orthopaedic and spinal surgery is carried out in these. Our outpatients department has 12 consulting rooms. 

We carry out treatment under a range of specialities including Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery and Neurosurgery. We recently were rated in the top 50 hospitals in the country for our total hip replacement patient outcomes.
