UX Manager

UX Manager

Barbican, London | Hybrid Working | Technology | Fixed Term Contract till end of 2026 | Full-Time

Competitive salary available, depending on experience

37.5 hours per week

At Nuffield Health, it starts with you. We're a purpose-driven organisation where people come first — whether that’s our patients, our teams, or our digital users. You’ll join a culture that values growth, curiosity, and collaboration, with real opportunities to make a difference through design.

We’re on a mission to create digital experiences that are not just functional — but frictionless, beautiful, and built around real human needs.

As a UX Manger, you will

You'll be the voice of user experience within a digital team, with a key focus on supporting a large-scale CMS migration and website transformation programme. Collaborate with the technology delivery manager and cross-functional team members to shape and deliver improved digital experiences that meet both user needs and business goals — improving digital NPS, reducing customer effort, and driving revenue and margin.

You will play a critical role in rethinking and redesigning key journeys as part of the migration to Adobe Experience Manager — moving beyond a lift-and-shift approach to create a more intuitive, scalable, and user-centred experience. This includes contributing to improved navigation, information architecture, and content structures across a large and complex website estate.

You will lead by craft — combining strong UX thinking with high-quality, practical UI design skills, delivering elegant, accessible (AA), and high-fidelity digital solutions. You'll produce design artefacts that are clear and developer-ready, and support those designs through to implementation.

You’ll contribute together with the rest of the UX team to and evolve our design system, ensuring visual consistency and scalable patterns that support the migration and future growth. You’ll also conduct research and validation to inform decisions, challenge assumptions, and continuously iterate on experiences.

This role is ideal for a T-shaped UX designer with strong UX thinking and practical UI design skills to bring ideas to life, with experience across research, prototyping, interaction design, and information architecture. You’ll play a key role in a large-scale CMS migration and website transformation, so experience working on similar programmes would be highly beneficial.

This role does not include direct line management responsibilities, with the opportunity to grow within the organisation beyond the initial project.

To succeed as a UX Manger, we’re looking for

  • Demonstrable experience in UX and practical UI design, ideally within large-scale website or digital transformation programmes.

  • A strong portfolio showcasing accessible (WCAG AA), responsive, and user-centred design solutions across complex digital experiences

  • Experience contributing to website redesigns, CMS migrations, or large content-driven platforms, with an understanding of associated challenges (e.g. scale, consistency, content structure)

  • Proficiency in digital design and prototyping tools (we use Figma)

  • Ability to create developer-ready design artefacts, including responsive mock-ups, clear specifications, and reusable components aligned to a design system

  • Good understanding of information architecture, navigation design, and structuring content in a user-centred way

  • Experience conducting moderated and/or unmoderated user research, including usability testing to validate decisions and inform iteration

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate insights into clear design solutions

  • Ability to advocate for user needs while balancing business goals in a pragmatic, delivery-focused environment

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust, influence decisions, and navigate complexity

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams, including working with third-party agencies

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to deliver high-quality outputs at pace within an iterative environment

  • This role is suited to an experienced UX practitioner with a solid foundation in delivering end-to-end UX work. It is not intended for entry-level or junior candidates.
