As our new UX/UI Design Manager, you’ll be the voice of the user within a high-performing digital squad, working closely with product owners and cross-functional teammates to deliver experiences that improve digital NPS, reduce customer effort, and drive real value — for both users and the business. 

This is a hands-on, craft-led role ideal for a T-shaped UX designer with deep skills in UI and visual design, plus broad capabilities across UX, research, prototyping, and interaction design. (No line management — all about the doing!) 

As a UX/UI Design Manger, you will   

  • Lead design within your squad — delivering elegant, accessible, and developer-ready digital solutions 

  • Own the visual craft — create high-fidelity, pixel-perfect UI grounded in best practices and our design system 

  • Conduct lightweight UX research — validate assumptions, run usability tests, and iterate based on real user insight 

  • Evolve our design system — ensuring consistency, accessibility, and scalability across products 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally — with developers, analysts, content designers, and product owners to turn ideas into reality 

  • Champion user needs — while balancing business goals and driving results 

To succeed as a UX/UI Design Manger, we’re looking for  

  • A standout portfolio showcasing accessible, responsive, and visually compelling design solutions that solve real user needs across digital products and services. 

  • Proficient in Figma (and other design/prototyping tools) 

  • Strong skills in creating developer-ready assets and specs 

  • Proven experience with user research (moderated or unmoderated usability testing) 

  • Excellent active listening and note-taking skills 

  • Confident, credible communication with stakeholders at all levels 

  • Strategic thinking — balancing UX principles with business outcomes 

  • Experience in healthcare or e-commerce digital products is a plus, but we welcome applicants with experience in other industries too.

Video interview

The video interview lasts 15-20 minutes if you get to this stage. On the day, look the part, be aware of your surroundings and practice your answers to feel prepared. Most of all, relax and be yourself.

DBS Checks

Some of our roles require a DBS check and they are processed through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) as part of the recruitment process. These checks are to assist employers in making safer recruitment decisions. However, a check is just one part of robust recruitment practice.

Documents

You could be asked to provide proof of vaccinations as part of our Occupational Health pre-employment screening. We know it can be time consuming to get this information if you don’t already have it to hand, so we encourage you to start preparing this information to avoid any delays to the onboarding process.
