This role is about delivering exceptional customer service, whether motivating members, teaching classes or reviewing class timetables and responding to members. It involves teaching classes, both in the studio and the pool, reviewing the latest trends in class based exercise in line with our timetable and budget.
Reporting to Fitness Manager you’ll be working with the on-site fitness and wellbeing team, management and clients.
As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will:
A professional service is maintained at all times in compliance with our guidelines and objectives.
Every member gets a response to queries within 48 hours.
Membership records are kept confidential and up to date.
Classes instructors and programmes follow Nuffield Health protocols.
All relevant health and safety rules, regulations and codes of practice are followed.
All the equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
Preferred...You have an up-to-date first aid qualification and that you can follow the Emergency Action Procedures Fitness qualifications, experience skills and values.
As a qualified instructor, you’ll hold relevant qualifications in class based exercise.
You’ll have a strong fitness background, with experience of working in a corporate or commercial fitness environment.
You’ll need to be a competent computer user with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Driven and passionate about all aspects of fitness and wellbeing, you’ll take an enthusiastic and flexible approach. You’ll be a self-starter, able to work on your own initiative, and have a good eye for detail. Like us, you put people first.
You’ll take the time to understand each individual client’s needs and how to help them achieve their goals, whether they’re recovering from an operation or training for a marathon. You must become familiar with all the health assessments, classes and programmes available at the Centre, and be prepared to help with promotional events. You‘ll also be required to follow our procedures in opening and closing the Centre and processing membership payments.
It’s important to proactively develop your knowledge, skills and understanding of issues relating to your role and attend training courses as required.

Help with your application.

Our recruitment team screens all of the applications we receive. CV

Covering email
Your CV will contain details about why you’d be a good fit for the role, but it’s well worth adding a short, snappy paragraph pulling out the two or three most compelling reasons as to why you’d be perfect for the job in your covering email..
Video interview
The video interview lasts 15-20 minutes if you get to this stage. On the day, look the part, be aware of your surroundings and practice your answers to feel prepared. Most of all, relax and be yourself.
DBS Checks
Some of our roles require a DBS check and they are processed through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) as part of the recruitment process. These checks are to assist employers in making safer recruitment decisions. However, a check is just one part of robust recruitment practice.
Documents
You could be asked to provide proof of vaccinations as part of our Occupational Health pre-employment screening. We know it can be time consuming to get this information if you don’t already have it to hand, so we encourage you to start preparing this information to avoid any delays to the onboarding process.
