Digital Product Owner (AEM)

Barbican, London | Hybrid Working | Fixed-Term Contract till end of 2027 | Full-Time

Competitive salary available, depending on experience

37.5 hours per week

Nuffield Health is the charity that’s building a healthier nation, one day at a time. From award-winning hospitals and leisure facilities to flagship community programmes – we’ll do whatever it takes to look after the UK’s wellbeing. It starts with passion and commitment to quality. It starts with you.

We are looking for an experienced and highly capable Digital Product Owner (AEM) to play a leading role in the transformation of Nuffield Health’s website and digital customer experience.

We are replatforming our website onto Adobe Experience Manager, but this is far more than a technology or content migration. It is an opportunity to redesign how people discover, understand and access Nuffield Health’s services, creating simpler, more connected and more effective digital experiences.

You will be accountable for turning the programme vision and OKRs into a clear product strategy, outcome-led roadmap and prioritised backlog. Working across customer experience, design, content, technology, data, SEO, marketing and our business services, you will ensure that the programme delivers measurable improvements for our customers and for Nuffield Health.

This is a pivotal role within the programme. You will provide strong product leadership, make evidence-based prioritisation decisions and ensure that the new website is designed around customer needs and organisational outcomes, rather than becoming a like-for-like migration of the existing estate

As our Digital Product Owner (AEM), you will:

  • Translate the programme’s strategic objectives and OKRs into measurable product outcomes, roadmap priorities and delivery goals.
  • Define what success looks like for each major product outcome, including relevant customer, commercial, operational, content, accessibility and technical measures.
  • Own and continuously refine the product roadmap and backlog, prioritising work according to customer value, strategic alignment, OKR contribution, risk, effort and technical dependencies.
  • Make timely and transparent scope and prioritisation decisions, including difficult trade-offs between experience quality, delivery timescales, commercial value, platform capability, technical debt and risk.
  • Set clear minimum experience and quality thresholds, ensuring that delivery pressures do not compromise critical customer, accessibility, security or brand requirements.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, refinement, reviews and other product ceremonies, while ensuring the team remains focused on outcomes rather than output volume.
  • Build and maintain trusted senior stakeholder relationships, aligning diverse priorities through evidence-based product decisions, transparent prioritisation, and constructive challenge to ensure focus on agreed customer outcomes and programme OKRs.
  • Work effectively with strategic delivery partners and suppliers, setting clear expectations and ensuring that Nuffield Health receives measurable value from its investments.

Experience and attributes you will bring to the team:

  • Significant experience as a Product Owner or Digital Product Manager for complex, high-traffic customer-facing websites or digital products.
  • Prior experience with Adobe CX enterprise products, especially AEM, Target and Analytics, ideally in a fitness or healthcare environment. Previous experience on a CMS migration would be a bonus.
  • Have good knowledge of the SEO/GEO landscape and what’s important to boost rankings / citations.
  • An interest and excitement about AI and how it can improve the way we work.
  • Be familiar with Agile methodology and have worked in SCRUM / KANBAN, as well as be comfortable using tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Excellent communicator and ability to engage and influence people at all levels on the reasons for and the successes of the migration.
  • Demonstrable ability to balance revenue driving features with vulnerability management, maintenance and technical debt reduction.

Hints & Tips

Help with your application.

Once you’ve found the right role for you, you can apply online. All you need to do at this stage is submit your CV, a covering email, and a few personal details.

Our recruitment team screens all of the applications we receive. So, if they see that you’ve got the right sort of skills and experience needed for the role, your details will be passed on to the relevant hiring manager. Then, if you fit all the criteria at this stage, you’ll be invited to take part in a video, telephone or face-to-face interview.

CV

Think about the skills and qualities asked for in the job description and show how you’ve applied those same skills and qualities in other roles. Focus on the things that will make us want to see more of you.

Covering email

Your CV will contain details about why you’d be a good fit for the role, but it’s well worth adding a short, snappy paragraph pulling out the two or three most compelling reasons as to why you’d be perfect for the job in your covering email..

Video interview

The video interview lasts 15-20 minutes if you get to this stage. On the day, look the part, be aware of your surroundings and practice your answers to feel prepared. Most of all, relax and be yourself.

DBS Checks

Some of our roles require a DBS check and they are processed through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) as part of the recruitment process. These checks are to assist employers in making safer recruitment decisions. However, a check is just one part of robust recruitment practice.

Documents

You could be asked to provide proof of vaccinations as part of our Occupational Health pre-employment screening. We know it can be time consuming to get this information if you don’t already have it to hand, so we encourage you to start preparing this information to avoid any delays to the onboarding process.

Your current studies

If you are currently undertaking any strudies, education or apprenticeships, its worth noting there are some training provider we're not partnered with, and therefore potentially unable to support your continued learning. Ensure you share this at interview and for queries contact psc@nuffieldhealth.com

Feedback on applications

Due to the volume of applications we receive we are unable to provide individual feedback from an inital application.
