Our ambition is to deliver the best possible customer and patient experience, and our digital services are critical to achieving that goal. Everything we do starts with passion, purpose, and a commitment to quality. It starts with you.

Join Nuffield Health as a Solution Architect and play a pivotal role in shaping the digital platforms that support millions of customers and members.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the design and delivery of solution and technical architectures across key digital initiatives, with a primary focus on:

  • Digital Gym

  • AEM Website Re‑platforming

You will ensure that all designs align with our architectural principles, technology standards, and long‑term digital strategy.

As our Solution Architect, you will:

  • Provide architectural guidance and support to technology squads and business stakeholders, ensuring strategic alignment

  • Champion the digital platform, supporting governance processes and collaborating with architects and stakeholders to ensure consistency and quality

  • Work closely with other architects to align strategic direction and drive cohesive, joined‑up digital services

  • Support the Architecture function in shaping strategic digital approaches that deliver exceptional customer and patient experiences

  • Create and contribute to high‑level solution designs and architecture artefacts, including platform, solution, technical, and service documentation

  • Partner with delivery and development teams to ensure architecture is pragmatic, deliverable, and drives real business value

You’ll bring strong technical leadership, strategic thinking, and a passion for improving digital customer experiences.

To succeed as a Solution Architect, you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience designing, building, and integrating scalable, customer‑focused digital platforms (web, mobile, e‑commerce)

  • Hands‑on experience delivering digital transformation and service modernisation

  • Experience working with third‑party solution providers and vendors

  • A strong background in application development or delivery within the fitness or leisure sector

  • Experience working with commercial digital application portfolios, particularly Adobe (preferable AEM as a Cloud Service)

  • A track record of using architecture principles to improve both frontend user experience and backend capability

  • Understanding of cloud-based architectures and modern deployment approaches, including Azure-based PaaS and serverless services, and when to use each appropriately

  • Solid knowledge of API‑centric architectures and integration strategies

  • Ability to balance competing priorities and time‑to‑market pressures

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences

  • A strategic mindset, able to see the bigger picture, anticipate challenges, and guide delivery towards long‑term business objectives

  • Knowledge of headless architectures, including headless and hybrid CMS implementations, preferably using GraphQL (ideally within AEM Headless)

Hints & Tips

Help with your application.

Once you’ve found the right role for you, you can apply online. All you need to do at this stage is submit your CV, a covering email, and a few personal details.

Our recruitment team screens all of the applications we receive. So, if they see that you’ve got the right sort of skills and experience needed for the role, your details will be passed on to the relevant hiring manager. Then, if you fit all the criteria at this stage, you’ll be invited to take part in a video, telephone or face-to-face interview.

CV

Think about the skills and qualities asked for in the job description and show how you’ve applied those same skills and qualities in other roles. Focus on the things that will make us want to see more of you.

Covering email

Your CV will contain details about why you’d be a good fit for the role, but it’s well worth adding a short, snappy paragraph pulling out the two or three most compelling reasons as to why you’d be perfect for the job in your covering email..

Video interview

The video interview lasts 15-20 minutes if you get to this stage. On the day, look the part, be aware of your surroundings and practice your answers to feel prepared. Most of all, relax and be yourself.

DBS Checks

Some of our roles require a DBS check and they are processed through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) as part of the recruitment process. These checks are to assist employers in making safer recruitment decisions. However, a check is just one part of robust recruitment practice.

Documents

You could be asked to provide proof of vaccinations as part of our Occupational Health pre-employment screening. We know it can be time consuming to get this information if you don’t already have it to hand, so we encourage you to start preparing this information to avoid any delays to the onboarding process.

Your current studies

If you are currently undertaking any strudies, education or apprenticeships, its worth noting there are some training provider we're not partnered with, and therefore potentially unable to support your continued learning. Ensure you share this at interview and for queries contact psc@nuffieldhealth.com
