A nursing apprenticeship starts with 100% support

Lauren had only just started with us as a Healthcare Assistant when the opportunity to join a Nursing Degree Apprenticeship came up. She grabbed the chance with both hands. She tells us why:

“I had heard really good things about Nuffield Health being supportive and all my colleagues reassured me that that promise ran true. I just thought it was a really good opportunity and I had to take it. I’m really enjoying it.”

Being able to earn while you learn and help to improve the health of a nation is what makes a Nuffield Health Apprenticeship so special. As Lauren says:

“There's a lot of on job training, and you learn so much being able to put what you’ve learned in the classroom into practice, rather than just academic theory. I have mentors inside and outside of work who help me all the way. I feel 100% supported.”

The skills Lauren learned from working in a care home before she joined us have also held her in good stead. “I had these skills, but I've learned so much more from being here.

There’s great flexibility too. For example, if I want an extra day study day, that’s ok. Everyone gets along with each other and looks out for each other like a family.”

Lauren knew she wanted to work for Nuffield Health, she didn’t know it would change her career journey in such an exciting way.

“I never would have thought to do an apprenticeship until Nuffield Health told me all about it. I was really excited to start and now I can't wait to finish it and become a qualified nurse.”
