A rewarding journey

Meet Justin Timothy Asagra, Senior Staff Nurse at Nuffield Health York Hospital. We asked Justin about his journey from international recruit to Senior Staff Nurse at York Hospital.

How long have you worked for Nuffield Health?

I have had the privilege of working at Nuffield Health for nearly three years now.

Tell us about your career progression at Nuffield Health?

Throughout my career, I have had experience working for both government and private sectors in healthcare gaining invaluable experience and honing my nursing skills. My journey eventually led me to Nuffield Health, where I had the opportunity to showcase my nursing skills, efficiency, and knowledge. As my career has progressed as an international recruit to becoming a Senior Staff Nurse, I have witnessed first-hand the importance of providing high-quality and compassionate care to patients. The journey has been rewarding, and I am proud to work for an organization that values professional development and personal growth.

Tell us about the team you work in?

Teamwork is integral in our field. You can expect a nurturing, supportive environment where you can flourish and develop your skills. Most importantly, we get to emphasize on building a strong rapport with our patients, ensuring they feel heard, respected, and their needs are met throughout their care journey with us.

Why did you choose to work at Nuffield Health?

It offered me a wealth of opportunities for personal and professional growth. The Nuffield Health values a dynamic and collaborative culture, where everyone’s contribution is appreciated, regardless of their background or experience. Plus, it came with various benefits and rewards available to employees, flexible working arrangements, wellness programmes, and ample room for career advancement.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Nuffield Health?

When you are able to make a difference in someone’s life, to ease their pain, and meeting their overall needs, it makes your career quite meaningful. The sense of purpose, the potential for growth, and the ability to make a difference in people’s lives are some of the many reasons why working here is a fulfilling and rewarding experience.

What is your career highlight?

Advancing into a Senior Nurse role has been an exceptional career highlight for me recently. It may be challenging at times, but when you know you’ve got a good team with you, and you keep yourself open to learn something unfamiliar, then anything can be managed. I look forward to continuing to make a difference whilst advancing my own professional growth.
