Together everyone achieves more

We spoke to Christian Adjei, one of our Radiographers at York Hospital about his career at Nuffield Health so far and what inspired him to join us.

How long have you worked for Nuffield Health?

1 Year 6 Months

Tell us about your career progression at Nuffield Health?

My goal as a Radiographer is to be diverse within my profession and produce radiographs of diagnostic quality.

I have been given the opportunity to work with all the modalities (MRI, Dexa, digital x-ray, theatre fluoroscopy) available within my department. In addition to this, I have received training on MRI safety, Dexa training and x-ray training which has improved my skills and knowledge within my career.

Tell us about the team you work in?

The Radiology team at York Nuffield is a dream team for me. I am happy to work with senior colleagues with much experience and always willing to help and educate. The support from my other colleagues’ just emphasis on my definition of what a team really means. Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM). I perceive the radiology team as a large pool of knowledge I can always learn from and help me develop as a radiographer.

Why did you choose to work at Nuffield Health?

Nuffield Health as a charitable organisation is something I always wanted to be part of to establish equity within our modern community. I chose Nuffield Health to provide advanced health, promote, and maintain health of others through a charitable means. In addition to this, I wanted to work in an environment where I feel connected to other group members and patients. Secondly, I wanted an institution that aspires my career growth, recognises my social and mental well-being and helps me to develop a good ethic within my profession and I found that through the Nuffield Health CARE values.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Nuffield Health?

Nuffield health has good systems to help recognise the need of its clients and staff through patient feedback system and through workday Peakon voice to help listen to the needs and concern of their staff with huge acknowledgement on positive and negative feedbacks.

What are your career highlights?

Safe Cannulation course at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh

Dexa Training from Vertex

Application Training on FUJI digital X-ray Equipment

MRI Safety Course in Edinburgh.

Day course on Spectris solaris injection pump and a talk on Gadolinium based contrast

How do you use your employee benefits?

There are a number of employee benefits available within Nuffield Health, although I am not currently enrolled on any benefits yet, I am seeking to enjoy the Nuffield cycle to work scheme which I believe will improve my health and mental well-being and help me save finance in this economic situation.
